OPI My Address Is Hollywood (Delayed Pink Wednesday)

Hey guys!  Sorry this is so late (24 hours or so), but I was up in Philly for interviews.  They went really well, but I was nervous so I didn't end up posting.  In continuing my OPI Touring America theme I have OPI My Address Is Hollywood.  It is a light barbie-ish pink creme with peachy flakes throughout.  The flakies don't really transfer to the photos.  I even tried flash, but it didn't really work at all.  Regardless, the color is really lovely.

2 coats My Address Is Hollywood, no top coat, shade

Like all new OPIs this is 4 Free with the Pro Wide Brush.  Completely opaque in 2 dreamy coats I still can't begin to get over this collection.  I was so in love with the Pirates collection, but was thoroughly let down by the formulas.  This collection continue to blow me away.  Good job OPI!

To make up for missing yesterday, I'll get a second post up just following this one.  For those of you that are curious, I went with Essie Lady Like for the interviews.  I have some seriously stained nails, so I couldn't go french or nude :(  Any suggestions for bleaching them back?

RGB Pink for Pink Wednesday

Hey guys!  Next time I think I don't get tan can someone please point me to this picture?  I had a swatch marathon when I got back from Hilton Head and I am so much more tan in this picture than I am now.  I wish it wouldn't fade so fast.  Anywho, this is another new to me brand.  I had heard nothing but good things about RGB and took advantage of a special offer.  This crazy bright polish is RGB Pink.  The brand is 4 Free and cruelty free.  The bottles are a flat rectangular prism shape with a small round black plastic lid.  The bottle fits nicely between your fingers and the brush is easy to hold.

2 coats Pink + Seche Vite, artificial light

Pink is quite obviously a bright eye-searing pink creme.  The polish paints on incredibly smoothly and I didn't need any clean up.  I'm definitely sold on this brand.  I honestly have nothing else to say, because there isn't anything I don't like about this polish except the high price tag it comes with. 

2 coats Pink + Seche Vite, artificial light

You all need to grab one!  RGB are available for purchase on RGB Cosmetics website for $16 a pop.  Oy!

Chanel Morning Rose

Happy Hump Day!  As you're reading this I am probably knocked out at Georgetown Hospital for super fun tests.  I mentioned previously that I went on a Chanel binge and decided to give the brand another shot.  At $25 a pop, it was a big shot.  For this week's Pink Wednesday I have Chanel Morning Rose.  Part of me wishes that we had Purple or Blue Wednesdays, because I seriously can't capture pinks with my lighting/camera set up.  Morning rose is a pale peachy pink jelly/creme with a peachy microshimmer running throughout.  It comes in the signature rectangular prism with the pop off top that reveals a ribbed application grip topped with the signature double Cs.  The bottles are generally easy to hold and have a nice brush length to grip ratio.  I am happy to report that the brush on this Chanel polish is less flimsy than the other colors I have tried thus far.  This applied easily and was opaque in 2-ish coats. 

2.5 coats Morning Rose + Seche Vite, artificial light

If you haven't gathered from my recent posts, I am thinking I may be alright with Chanel polishes again.  I may take advantage of some sales coming up to grab their base and top coat to see if my wear issues are remedied by taking that route.  That's some expensive stuff though.

Do any of my fellow polish addicts have any other Chanel polishes I should try?  Please, let me know!

China Glaze: Wild Mink - Pink Wednesday

Can someone tell me why I can't capture pinks on my camera?  I don't have this type of trouble with any other hues so this is driving me crazy.  This polish is really a medium bubble gum pink creme with a slight orange undertone, but this looks straight orange.  I've messed with the white balance and my lighting and tried all sorts of post photo editing.  No luck.  My only solution is to go outside, which I did this morning at 7:30 am.  There must be a way to capture this inside with artificial lighting.  Any tips?

I think I snagged this on a bulk ebay purchase a little while back.  I love the color, which sort of reminds me of YSL Rosa Rosa.  The formula is amazing for a China Glaze.  They are always good with formula, but this could pass for a Lippmann polish if you put it in the signature polish bottle.  This is a 3 free polish, but still seems very hard and dried impressively fast.  I pushed the limits on timing with a pre-bed mani and woke up without a sheet mark in sight.  The brush was a little flimsy on this.  However, it really doesn't matter when the formula is so spot on.  This is definitely a new permanent go to pink in my collection.

2 Coats Wild Mink + Seche Vite, natural light

My only gripe with this polish is its name.  I keep wanting to call it "Mink Pink."  I even titled this post with that accidentally but noticed before publishing.  Anyways, I'm excited I remembered it was Pink Wednesday.  It makes it way easier to pick a polish.

Verdict? STASH -this is my new favorite pink.

Cult Nails: Devious Nature

This is such a treat!  All weekend while I was gone, I eagerly awaited the arrival of my new Cult Nail polishes. Today when I got home from work my Devious Nature (and 3 others that you will surely see soon) was waiting for me! Devious Nature is a fabulously incredible bright pink creme from blogger/nail polish genius, Maria (see her blog here).  My fingers were suffering from my travels, so I grabbed my Devious Nature and ran to the nail place across the street and gave my poor fingers some much needed moisture.  Even the manicurist commented on how beautiful this polish was.  I'm not even a girly pink gal, but I LOVE this polish.  I figured this polish would be a good place to start off my first pink Wednesday!  In honor of the film Mean Girls, Wednesdays will now feature a pink mani :)  So here we go!

2 coats Devious Nature + 1 coat unknown top coat, artificial light.

All of Maria's polishes are 3 Free and thus far I haven't found one that isn't a dream to apply.  She has these great tube-like bottles which seem like they would be hard to hold but are actually really easy to hold on to.  The brush is the perfect size and flexibility for the formula of the polish.  Ok- I'm ranting.  I'm just trying to communicate how great this is.  This was even photogenic.  I grabbed this pic in one try, which is not like me at all.

These polishes can be purchased at Cult Nails.  They retail for $10 each, which you will see is really a steal for these.  I know at the moment she is ironing out some international shipping kinks, but it seems like most countries should be back in action soon. (Update: Most countries ARE back in action!)

Verdict?  Love it, and I think I need to get back on there and order the only Cult polish I don't own.
